Our Plundered Planet is a fictional psychedelic rock band. I created this album art and vinyl design by experimenting with physical media. This fictional album and its songs are meant to be a psychedelic odyssey into asking the hard questions before our clock runs out since there is “No Cure for Curiosity”.

Source Materials
In creating the album art, I started with looking through old LIFE magazines. I gathered most of the magazines in my collection from antique stores and estate sales.
I found a particularly striking image spanning the whole page of a boy looking at a moth on his nose. The curious nature of the boy in the photo gave me the idea of a society that continues to ask questions, similarly to a young child just learning the world. While scanning in these pages, I came across some interesting patterns such as a distorted dot page I later used on top of the boy and moth image.
Typefaces
I decided on Million Design because of its bold and expanded appearance. For the psychedelic rock genre, I think the typeface needed to be big and have an older font design. I used Qargeo Bold for the secondary type on the album for its readability and similarity to Futura.
